Some women want to use birth control pills to delay menstruation to perform the rituals [of worship] during the Hajj and Umrah seasons, fast the entire month of Ramadan, or to have the honor of visiting the honorable shrines of the Prophet and his purified household (pbut) in Medina and other holy cities such as Najaf and Karbala. What is the ruling on this?

There is no problem in doing so provided that it does not entail severe harm.

There is a lady who had a miscarriage, and she was given medication to remove the dead fetus. She bled for 10 days, which she considered nifas and on the 10th day she did ghusl. She continued to bleed after the 10th day, so she started doing ghusl for istihadha every day and followed it with wudhu before every salat. She has stopped bleeding and is spotting only now. However, she will need to take the aborting pill again as there is some tissue still left in her body which may cause her to bleed again. What will be the precautionary ghusl or steps for her to take? Will this be considered nifas again? Can she pray during this new phase of bleeding?

The bleeding due to the second administration of medication would not be considered nifas; therefore, she needs to observe the rulings of istihadhah. For an extended period of bleeding thereafter, she would need to check the characteristics of the blood to see if it is haydh or not.

I would like to know the rules about wearing jeans/pants for women. The ruling states that it is permissible as long as it does not draw the attention of others. As such, would loose-fitting jeans/pants be appropriate?

It is permissible for a woman to wear pants if three conditions are met:

1. The pants must not be transparent and must not reveal the shape of the body.
2. The pants must not be designed or colored in a way that is regarded as an ornament (i.e., to attract attention) based on common view.
3. The pants do not normally cause arousal.
