If your job involves usurious transactions and the party that pays the interest/usury is a Muslim, it is not permissible to work in that job.

It is permissible to work [at a grocery store] but it is not permissible to handle wine or serve it to anyone, even if they consider it lawful to drink. As for the cost of wine, it is permissible for the employee to receive the payment if the two parties to the sale are non-Muslims.

Moreover, it is not permissible for a Muslim to be hired to sell or serve wine or wash its utensils in preparation for drinking. Similarly, it is not allowed for them to take the wages for this work because it is prohibited and not justified by dire need for money.

God says, “Whoever is wary of Allah, He shall make for him a way out and provide for him from whence he does not count upon. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, He will suffice him.” ِThe Holy Prophet (pbuh&hp) is reported to have said, “No soul will die before receiving its allotted sustenance in full, so fear Allah and seek [your livelihood] appropriately, and do not let delay in sustenance make you seek it by means of disobeying Allah.”

The criteria in these and similar circumstances is to avoid violating institutional policy and adhering to the employment contract and its conditions, and if it is violated, the employee is not entitled to the amount of salary equivalent to the time missed, and as such, they must pay it to the religious needy people.”

It is permissible per se, as long as the games do not involve gambling and do not entail listening to unlawful music, watching anything that violates chastity [such as images of indecency], or leads to unlawful practices. These games must be avoided if addiction to them results in the neglect of one’s religious obligations, such as performing the obligatory daily prayers at their prescribed times, or if it entails a serious impact on the psychological well-being of the person. Parents should be concerned with the proper religious upbringing of their children and keep them away from everything that is contrary to this, like enjoining evil and forbidding what is good, promoting destructive ideas and lewd images that provoke satanic desires, and everything that causes them intellectual and moral decadence.

It is not permissible to transport wine or serve it to anyone, even to those who consider it permissible. Furthermore, it is not permissible to wash the dishes or give them to others if the purpose is to drink wine. It is not permissible for a Muslim to perform such prohibited work or accept any wages for it, as it is unjustifiable in Islamic law. God says [65:2-3], “Whoever is wary of God, He shall make for him a way out [of the adversities of the world and the Hereafter] and provide for him from whence he does not count upon. And whoever puts his trust in God, He will suffice him.” Prophet Muhammad (pbuh&hp) is reported to have said, “Know that Jibrail has inspired [God’s message] in my heart that no soul shall die until its sustenance is completed. Therefore, be wary of God and be moderate in seeking [sustenance]; and let not the delay in getting your share of the sustenance make you seek it through disobeying Him, for the Blessed and Almighty God has divided the sustenance among His creation by means that are permissible and not through those that are prohibited. So, whosoever is wary of God and has patience, He will provide them with sustenance from lawful [means]; but whosoever tears apart the curtain of propriety, makes haste, and acquires their portion from unlawful [means], it will be deducted from their lawful sustenance and they will be held accountable for it on the Day of Resurrection.”

Anything that is considered gambling and betting is forbidden, whether it is done by external means (i.e., using gambling/betting devices) or electronically. It is also forbidden to engage in such activities even if it does not involve betting based on obligatory precaution, and it is not permissible to deal with it [in any form of trade]. Other than these games, there is no problem in playing, for example, sports competitions, provided that it does not contain/constitute something forbidden, leads to moral corruption, or leads to addiction to that game or others similar to it. As such, they must be avoided if they cause a person to neglect their religious duties, such as performing prayers in their prescribed times, or have detrimental psychological effects like making the player aggressive towards others, or similar effects.

It is permissible provided that it does not interfere with her religious duties and obligations, which include being appropriately covered and observant of the hijab, staying away from any place where she is not immune from falling into sin, observing the rights of her husband if she is married, and those of her parents if they are alive.

Your income is lawful; however, you must avoid bagging alcohol and whatever is considered aiding others to engage in unlawful acts. As for the paycheck the cashier receives for this job, since the store is not designated and limited to unlawful business, it shouldn’t be an issue. However, the best for a believer is to avoid such jobs as much as possible.
